Self Portraits & Portraits

I believe a good photo cannot exactly be determined... Only for the fact that the photographer might've spent so much time and effort on the picture for it to be criticized. The self portraits are how a person feels about themselves or how their feelings and emotions can be shown through the photos.

I don't have an exact style that i know i want to use. Maybe having to do with sports, in the gym.
Or somewhere having to do with Art in the AHA building.

Ethnics In Fashion Photography

1. Lips, Hair, Neck, eyes, neck & shoulders, roundness of the face.

2. it isn't ethnically acceptable to change a person's appearance, especially like they did in the bill board. It's almost like saying that the person wasn't good enough for the picture. It also isn't their natural look.

3. I believe that bill boards such as the one in the video was surprising to see all the drastic changes that were made.

4. Little changes like red eye removal if necessary. But not huge changes that can change a person's physical appearance.

5. I believe that in fashion photography, changes like the ones made in the bill board are done often as well as commercials etc...
And i feel like photojournalism is more of what you capture in the moment. And exploring, and taking-in what's going on in the world around you.

6. It depends on what you like to take pictures of and what inspires you. Fashion industries seem to not really care how many changes they have to make to please others and have others critique their work. Whereas it seems like in photojournalsim, you take pictures in a genre of your choosing and on what pleases yourself and you critque your own work.

National Geographic Warm-Up & Photo Manipulation and Ethics

1.

2. First of all i really like this picture because of the colors, black and white. The colors make the building very retro yet future like. I really like the structure of the builing with the stairs and rounded halls. And your focus on the picture leads up to the center on the very last floor. The person who took this picture was really lucky for getting a chance to enter the building.

3. I would probably like to take a picture of town lake with the buildings of downtown in the background yet the focus to be maybe on something thats on the water. Maybe of a kayak or a rowing class in their canoes.

A. Even though photochop is a very useful tool to many photographers, there is a right and wrong way in using it, and there is always a good time to use it, and sometimes it is just un-called for.

B. There is a time when you can photochop the pictures, but when you alter the picture to the point where it's completely diffrent that isnt correct.

I believe this picture was the most unethical, because the topic of war is something alot of people will read about, and for them to manipulate such a photo to make it seem harsh towards the father and kid, isn't reasonable.

In my opinion this is the least unethnical because you hear alot about magazine and propaganda's reputation for "fixing" the original photo and making many changes to make the star or cover look more appealing to the readers/viewers.

Abandonded Theme Parks

1. I would like to visit "Shidaka’s Utopia, Beppu, Kyushu, Japan". Because, of the "House of Horrors" building that has the mechanical monsters that were left to decay. The monsters would probably be ten times scarier just for the fact that they are just sitting there to decay... On top of that, it is said that everything was left as was when the amusment park had shut down.

2.

3. Abandoned Hospital, Abandonded Schoolyard, Abandonded Factory, Abandonded Daycare, Abandonded City.

4.  (Abandoned Hospital)

5. I think being there in the abandonded hospital would be cool just to see what had happened whether it was half torn down or burned down. I would go explore all the rooms and see if any documents were left. I would take pictures of the conditions of the hospital like the rooms and hallways. I would check If any tools that were used for surgery were still there, or if it looks like someone has been in there recently since it was abandoned, for example graffiti.

6. Im going to need my camera of course. A flashlight just in case. I would probably take a plane and a taxi. I would have to pay for a hotel, plane tickets, taxi rides, food. It might be closed down and it might be illegal to enter the premises.
