American Soldier slide show and captions

2a) The picture that is the most poweful from the slide show is the picture where Ian met his parents and friends at the Denver airport when he was finishing his first training.
2b) I believe its "In The Army" because it shows how the first few days went for him and a wake up call that no one said being in the army was going to be easy.
2c) They are in a sequence in order how the progress through leaving high school all the way to coming back home went for him.

3a) Present Tense
3b) They explain more into detail what is going on, or how they feel, or who is all in the picture. It helps alot to understand what the picture is representing without having to guess what is going on.

4a)     -Ian and his father (Don Johnson) are trying to spend as much time as possible together before he leaves for training in the Army. Both talk about the old times, and his father, being an only parent of two, this was emotionally hard for him.
-Ian calls home while he's on break to check in on everyone for the fact that he is feeling home sick there at the "Army Center".
-Ian and his family and friends are eating pizza around the dinner table, while listening intently to Ian describe how life was like back in Iraq.

5a) The videos are almost like captions in a way. They explain to us what exactly is going on or how the main person in the picture is feeling.
5b) The video when he is first being enrolled into the Army shows how Ian is reacting to his postion in enlisting and how his parents and friends feel, where as the pictures only show their reactions.
5c) The pictures when he is in Iraq show much emotion and the postitioning of the people and camera has alot to do with the effect. The video on the other hand only explains what he is going through.

Cool Video

I thought the video was really cool, and i liked the fact that its a picture slideshow and videos...
I think that the pictures that were in the end that were in the slideshow need to be a little slower cause i couldn't take in all the pictures at once.
But other than that i thought that it was a really smart idea to make a video yearbook.

Next assignment.

The normal everyday lives of an Akins Eagle just in general.
Maybe action photos of sports or p.e.

We should use cameras because some phones wont catch the picture as good as the camera can.

Maybe by the art building. or by the cafeteria somewhere outside so visitors can also have the advantage to see it as well...

Warm-up

You have to capture multiple standard photographs, often using exposure bracketing, then merging them into an HDR image.
Yes.
Yes, outside.

I really liked this one because the colors in the picture really stands out and you can hardly see the water because it reflects the sunset in the sky along with the clouds.
Simplicity.

Great Black & White photographers 3

  • All her pictures look very unique... Even though they are in black and white, all the pictures have a focus point and a purpose.
  • I see...
    • -the finished Lady Liberty with some workers cheering. New York from afar and down below. Other people cheering and smiling like never before.
    • - work of machines in the factory in the Gilded age. Co-Workers at work without a stop. Clothing being made with determintaion to finish the never ending workload.
  • I smell...
    • -Fresh air blowing by my face of trees and water. Corn Dogs from New York being sold to customers. Metal that surrounds me.
    • -Old buildings that has been through alot. Rusty metal being overworked. And the smell of cotton from the shirts that are currently being made.
  • I hear...
    • -People yelling that "we're done". People cheering for our completed work. Screams of excitment so all of New York can hear.
    • - Engines of machines going off. Shirts being rubbed against the "belt" of the machine. The light posts swerving back and forth that hang from the roof.
  • I taste...
    • -The corndogs in New York. The taste of Salty water. And the taste of old and chewed gum.
    • -The metal in braces. The taste of a home-made sandwich during the lunch break. The smell of the building hitting my tastebuds.
  • I feel...
    • Excited to be apart of this moment. Happy that our work is finally noticed. Joyous for the completion.
    • Hardworking without a stop. Determined to finish. Ready to go home to prepare for the next day at work.
  • I would like to create a blog so each one of us can visit eachothers blogs in the class.

Fixed Photo Shoot Post Shoot Reflection

  • I learned how to change the ISO number, the shutter speed, and the F-stop.
  • Their brightness and darness of the pictures.
  • Yes because the lighting in the pictures vary.
  • Depending on where your taking your pictures the lighting changes throught each ISO. Each ISO at the end gets lighter and lighter.
  • All the pictures in each ISO started off bright and went darker throughout the f-stops and the shutter speed.

ISO: 400
Shutter Speed: 1/1000
F-Stop: 22
Distance: About 10 feet
Lighting: Sunny

The ISO number according to how bright it is inside or outside also the F-stop and Shutter speed that makes a perfect picture...
